TabVault ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the TabVault browser extension and website at tabvault.io.

1. Information We Collect

When you use TabVault, we collect the following information to provide the service:

• Tab session data: URLs and page titles of browser tabs you choose to save as sessions. This data is stored securely in your TabVault account and is never shared with third parties.
• Account information: Your email address and authentication credentials when you create an account or sign in via OAuth.
• Usage data: Anonymous, aggregated data about how features are used (e.g., number of sessions saved) to improve the product. No individual browsing history is logged.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

• Save, sync, and restore your tab sessions across devices
• Maintain and improve the TabVault service
• Send transactional emails (e.g., subscription confirmations, password resets)
• Provide customer support when you contact us

3. Data Storage and Security

Your session data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use industry-standard cloud infrastructure to store your data securely. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or tab session data with any third parties.

4. Chrome Extension Permissions

The TabVault Chrome extension requests the following permissions, used exclusively to provide the core service:

• tabs: To read the list of open tabs (URLs and titles) when you save a session, and to reopen tabs when restoring a session.
• storage: To store session data locally on your device for offline access and fast restore.
• alarms: To schedule periodic automatic session backups in the background.
• activeTab: To include the currently active tab when saving a session.
• scripting: To capture tab metadata (title, favicon) when saving a session.
• downloads: To allow you to export saved sessions as a local backup file.

No permission is used for any purpose beyond saving and restoring your tab sessions.

5. Third-Party Services

We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details on our servers.

6. Data Retention

We retain your session data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@tabvault.io.

7. Children's Privacy

TabVault is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date.
