TabVault ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data when you use the TabVault Chrome extension and website (collectively, the "Service").

By using TabVault, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. We will never sell your personal data to third parties.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Email address — collected when you create an account or upgrade to Pro.
• Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Tab URLs and page titles — collected only when you explicitly press "Save Session." We do not passively monitor your browsing activity.
• Session metadata — the name, timestamp, and tab count of each saved session.
• Extension settings — your preferences (e.g., keyboard shortcuts, sync preferences) stored locally in Chrome's storage.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not read, store, or transmit the content of web pages you visit.
• We do not collect passwords, form data, or any sensitive page content.
• We do not track your browsing history passively or without your action.
• We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the TabVault Service, including cloud sync for Pro subscribers.
• Process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe.
• Send transactional emails (e.g., subscription confirmation, trial expiry reminders).
• Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues.
• Improve the Service based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns.

4. Data Storage and Security

Free plan users: All session data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. No data is transmitted to our servers.

Pro plan users: Session data is synced to a Supabase database hosted on AWS infrastructure in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Access is protected by Row Level Security policies — only you can read or modify your own data.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below.

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Portability: Export your saved sessions at any time via the CSV or Markdown export feature in the extension.
• Opt-out: Free plan users can use TabVault entirely without creating an account — no data ever leaves your device.

7. Children's Privacy

TabVault is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify Pro subscribers via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
